Highlights from the trip...
DeSoto Bluff Trail (Arkadelphia, AR)
We took this short little hike to enjoy the warm weather.Nice view and informative signs along the way to educate you about the area and its history.
Crater of Diamonds State Park (Murfreesboro, AR)
We didn't find any diamonds but had fun trying! A picnic lunch and cooler weather made the day pleasant. Two diamonds were found on the day we were there, I think both a half a carat. Be prepared to get dirty and wear your bad tennis shows. You will get dirty digging and washing the gravel. You can bring your own tools or rent from them.
Diamond Johns: Sleep in a Teepee (Murfreesboro, AR)

Diamond Johns: Sleep in a Teepee (Murfreesboro, AR)
Unique lodging for the night. This was right near the diamond park so we stayed here for the night, the owners were nice and friendly. Great place with fishing, hot tub, soccer, and volleyball. Our teepee was equipped with a cable TV, microwave, and fridge. Also had heat and AC, both of which we used. ($100 for the night)
Hot Springs National Park (Hot Springs, Arkansas)
On our way home we stopped in Hot Springs to view the historic bathhouses. I got my National Park passport stamp and then we toured the free facility. There was an interesting history to learn about and this was a nice break from the car ride.
The Old Mill (North Little Rock, AR)

This unique park was a beautiful hidden gem. Everything was flowering and it looked beautiful. Used in the opening credits of Gone with the Wind this park was established in 1933. It is a Historic re-creation of an old 1880's water-powered grist mill. Quiet place to relax or take photos.
